| Zanotta coffee table identification wanted | 1 Relevance | 17 years ago | juglans | Identification | |
| Help wanted with this coffee table. It has a diameter of 59.5 cm (23.5"). It is made out of concave shaped steel covered with leather on top and bottom. Legs are stainless steel. Six socket head screws keep the legs together It has a beautiful decoration and signed on the bottom. Tried to figure out the designer but to no avail. Would anyone know how old this table is? And who the designer is of the model and the designer of the decoration? Also the leather is black on the bottom. It appears to black on top as well. However when it is rubbed it gives a blue ... | |||||
| The 31" height (with 9" legs) | 1 Relevance | 10 years ago | chase | General discussion | |
| The 31" height (with 9" legs) is true. This includes a negligibly small glide on the bottom; but no one would have one inch glides. I verified the 3/4" diameter. The legs being black have a really minimal presence giving the sideboard a floating feel. I personally don't think you should redo the 1" legs; the effect is the same as with 3/4". | |||||

| No, Pearsall rarely used tapered legs on his chairs (more common with his early sofas). All the Pearsall chairs that I have seen with pencil legs either had a thicker in diameter walnut tapered leg than your chair or casters on the ends. | |||||

| Away from home so no pics this moment, but I found a photo online of the basic 'made in norway' stamp on the underside. The knobs are not keys, they are round wood balls painted black. They are held in place by a 1/2" diameter teak peg. | |||||

| vintageobssesive, My Jamaica bar stools do not have any markings. As I deal directly with Knoll in East Greenville, Pennsylvania these are authorized products (produced by Amat-3). The seats are solid varnished beech wood not maple. Be advised that the new version of Jamaica bar stools produced by BD Barcelona has had technical changes to the design (the diameter of the legs decreased) and some parts (feet) are not interchangeable. Congratulations on your purchase. Stop asking questions and enjoy your new seating. Everything will taste better at the coun ... | |||||
| Mod Glass Table Lamp | 1 Relevance | 18 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| Does anyone recognize or know the origin of this light fixture? Its heavy ribbed glass with an aluminum base. I'm guessing it dates to the 70s, but not positive. It measures aprx 12" tall and 10.5" in diameter. I felt like I saw something like it in one of my books but I can't find it now... | |||||
| Harry Lawenda lamp | 1 Relevance | 18 years ago | barrympls | General discussion | |
| Well, bless my soul!!!! My late friend has this amazing California wrought iron lamp, and I have tried to find it to share with you all of these years. Well, I found someone at 1st dibs selling this amazing lamp. It's very heavy-duty wrought iron and the wood ball is kind-of floating and turns. Each wood ball is a bit different. Lawenda also designed a beautiful spring lamp, which starts with a perhaps 14" flat circle and the wrought iron solid pipe wound around, each time a bit smaller in diameter, and it ended up very slender at the top. There was a cent ... | |||||
| Vintage woven "string" chair restoration | 1 Relevance | 18 years ago | holcombstudio (USA) | General discussion | |
| ... on these chairs: This cord (also used on recent IKEA chairs as well as other modern furniture) needs to be flexible but not elastic, 1/8" to 3/16" diameter, good colors, and available in retail quantities. I could also use 1/4" straps of a similar material. I don't think this material is the same as what's currently sold as "resin wicker", which seems to be stiffer and less flexible - though that may work as well. Please - any help here would be very much appreciated. | |||||

| ... my aluminum base armshells and table, what if I rigged these to fit the chair? I would buy extras of course. I know you can buy some bases from the swivel-parts website, but I though these would be cooler. I've seen the large coffee table base, it has the larger diameter column but ina shorter length and would be perfect for the chair. And the ottoman could use a combo of this tube and the smaller chair base. Whaddya think? | |||||

| I found two neat little salt and pepper shakers. They are roughly cone shaped, about three inches tall, with the top 2.5 inches of the cone being stainless steel. The base of the cone, which reduces in diameter a bit, is wood. The salt shaker has five holes at the point of the cone. The pepper shaker has one hole at the point of the cone. The plastic plug in the bottom reads AB. Who or what is AB? And does anyone have any idea who might have designed these? They are pleasing to look at. They do not tip over. They feel good in the hand. They are amazingly eff ... | |||||

| I was at a thrift store Sunday, and I found and purchased a 3-tiered,or 3-ring,(35.5" diameter, and about 2-3"deep)Starburst comprised of 3 lengths of welded Brass or Bronze rods, about a 5 or 6 inch diameter opening in the center,(and something was originally there and is now missing),either a mirror or something.About 3 inches around the open center, there is a sort of woven rattan, very unusual. Also, the rods have flecks of Gold leaf on them to create an attractive shimmer.Very striking and intriguing. It looks like it took an incredible amount of hand work a ... | |||||

| Possibly 12V originally wired to an external transformer. Miniature 12V (E10) lamp screw bases are about that diameter and, if the body of the fixture acts as a conductor, as it appears yours does, it would explain a single wire lead to each socket. | |||||
