| The last thing I found were these vintage suitcases. They're in pretty good condition, they came from a local reclaimed door place near me. Unfortunately, they're a bit battered for use as suitcases, but they are going to work perfectly as extra storage in the lounge! | |||||

| Sure thing And thanks for your comments. Not to take this off-topic thread even further off-topic, but here is a news story I found quite interesting. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2375270/Dafen-Oil-Painting-Villa... | |||||

| one more thing KRP wanted me to add to this thread that my wife thinks the Le Corbusier LC4 chaise lounge and the Mies MR group lounge chair are sexy. The Bertoia Diamond chair is not. Please discuss. | |||||
| The whole thing | 2 Relevance | 15 years ago | glassartist | General discussion | |
| The whole thing is like how I view basketball. On a initial level I see a bunch of overpaid grown men chasing a ball around like a bunch of kids. Even though my personal prejudices spoil it for me like that, I have taken the time to understand what others see in it, and found the grace, power, strategy, and teamwork there. I ask you to do the same here. | |||||

| Guessing that the thing that looks like an extra rail is actually half of the side rail that broke off at the end where the weaving slot split going into the joint? I re-read this whole thread earlier today and tchp said something about that being a weak point. | |||||
| One more thing... | 2 Relevance | 20 years ago | Olive | General discussion | |
| One more thing... James, I couldn't live with the color you picked for your room, but I really like it. It's a lovely room. That's the fun part of design. Seeing things that are different from what you yourself would want and still loving it as it is. I get my jollies seeing different decor, I love seeing how other people live. | |||||

| I have a thing for pilot | 2 Relevance | 9 years ago | tktoo | Identification | |
| I have a thing for pilot schooners. Lane, not so much. Though I don't hate the Acclaim line for what it is, I'd feel better about it if it weren't so overrated and overpriced. And I agree with RLG so far as value. If you've acquired anything from Lane in the past 20 years and actually paid for it, don't be discouraged. Try to consider it a learning experience. | |||||
| Glassware is my thing | 2 Relevance | 15 years ago | Robert Leach | General discussion | |
| Glassware is my thing but as it's not marked it rules out my most likely candidate - Alsterfors, Sweden. (I still think either Swedish or from the Empoli area of Italy) If you can do a decent side shot and a base shot I can ask on one of my specialist glass forums for you, if you like? (Is it lidded?) | |||||
| This is a good thing. | 2 Relevance | 16 years ago | Modern Love | General discussion | |
| This is a good thing. The past couple of years Wright auctions have been almost painful to watch, it's nice to see the buyers come back strongly.... well, at least for this auction. Hopefully things continue to go well for all the auction houses for the rest of the season and on. | |||||
| The only thing | 2 Relevance | 15 years ago | SDR | General discussion | |
| The only thing I can think of as an objection to a funnel, is that foreign objects can wedge into it. This being the real world, where all kinds of thoughtless or malicious behavior is manifest, I'd suggest running the idea past the cleaning crews before settling on the design. As a form suggestive of "receptacle," I guess it can't be topped . . . | |||||
| Riki, Woody said the same thing about my space | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | barrympls | General discussion | |
| Riki, Woody said the same thing about my space "too cluttered". It's like asking what apple you like and Woody says buy an orange. I think your stuff looks great, and some of us are living in the rooms, they are not a showroom display! | |||||
| The last thing I would put in | 2 Relevance | 10 years ago | DrPoulet | General discussion | |
| The last thing I would put in a baby room would be an expensive rug as you can be 100% sure it will get dirty and will need regular cleaning. Then, I would not put a rug that is too fluffy... again for cleaning reason but also because of allergies (acari) I guess a boucherouite rug would be a perfect fit. It will bring colour to your room and they are usually machine washable. | |||||
| The only thing I know | 2 Relevance | 12 years ago | tchp | General discussion | |
| The only thing I know firsthand is that many (all?) of the original tufted leather cushions they used were not sprung, and were filled with foam or batting. By the 70's the cushions that Cado was using with the earlier France and Son stuff also got overstuffed, and not sprung. It might help to see an image of the sofa in question. | |||||
