	Hello everyone I am new to the forum. I'm trying to sort out some differences between Knoll Bertoia diamond Chairs. I noticed that the welding spots that attache the horizontal wires at the front of the base to the vertical ones that form the legs are varying on the Bertoia diamonds (same with the brackets that hold the base to the frame (solid vs. wire ones)). 	... he was trying to sell it... I believe it is a fake because the chair is weirdly low... the seating is at 36cm high... which seems low to me !? does anyone know if Bertoia produce different height of chair whithin the different fabrication? I have to specify that it is the most common type of Bertoia diamond and not the one with the shockmount. For the rest, the welding on the base or the wire seems legit and others dimension fit... only the height is weird to me? Thanks for the help

	Old diamonds are nearly always authentic ...because they were historically too cumbersome and expensive to reproduce and sell at a discount. That's no longer the case, but usually the welds around the top edge are on the underside of the top rod - or sandwiched between a double rod. Either way - easy to spot. Yours look good. Powder coat and enjoy.

	Diamonds are just paper... Diamonds are just paper stickers. did find some vaguely similar double barred Acton tables in Hatje's New Furniture.....Also considered Jorgen Hoj, Irwin and Estelle Laverne, and Nicos Zorgraphos....nothing yet.

If that's too unappetizing of an opinioned description, exchange baby doo-doo with Mocha Ice Cream. Thought I'd edit this to include that the above statements were meant to be dicouraging a purchase, and not a reflection of the design itself.
