| ... I don't know how to attach the display cabinets (I have five in total). So far, I've only been able to install the shelves, as you can see in the photo. If you could also help me identify the name of this furniture piece, that would be fantastic. I'm attaching some photos. Thank you so much!Martina Attachment: Captura-de-pantalla-2025-02-01-a-las-19.10.49.png | |||||

| Consider virtually everything from IKEA disposable | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | Poach | General discussion | |
| Consider virtually everything from IKEA disposable Amen to LucSum. I love IKEA. But I typically only buy IKEA products that are short term fashion items, or that don't require a lot of material or structural integrity. That stainless steel tableware you have your eye on is a particular grade of stainless that's, well... not so stainless. Just know that if a magnet sticks to it, it's going to rust. All of that self-assembled particle board furniture tends to bloat and turn to oatmeal at the slightest contact with water. Wrapping paper, yes. Chef's knife, ... | |||||

| ... in purchase cost, lifetime use, or resale. We have nothing invested in certain products and relegate them to 'disposable' status. Someone once asked of the DA Forum "Will Ikea products ever gain iconic status" - the answer was a resounding no. Ikea products lack any of the qualities we, as conscious consumers, deem valuable. This trait can be seen across many of our consumables - both durable goods and consumer goods. We don't hang on to consumer goods because we already think about them as disposable. We invest in certain things because we see them a ... | |||||

| The distance Between Designer and Person Designed For Pt 2 Now let's roll up our sleeves and actually characterize the arc of the consumer in the 20th Century. At the beginning of the 20th Century, the consumer was a mostly rural, or small town person beginning to have the barriers of all paths of communication drastically reduced. Shipping in the 17th-19th Centuries had connected the politics and economies of continents. Canals and trains connected the politics and economies of cities on continents in the 18th and 19th Centuries. Harnessing of energies unde ... | |||||
