| The chairs discussed above | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | Zephyr | General discussion | |
| The chairs discussed above are clearly made by BL Marble, but the likeness to Jens Risom designed chairs is unmistakable. So my question is, does anyone have definitive proof that Risom designed for the Marble company? I bring this up again because I have found some additional information that is quite interesting.... I picked up a wonderful Walnut desk that was designed by Risom, this is well documented. When I opened up the drawer, however, I found the following tag. Thoughts? | |||||

| a recently discussed dealer on ebay and etsy has a chair for sale that she says includes both the summit overlapping triangles AND the flames embossments on the same chair. (I believe the listing is current, and there might not be a picture of both logos together, just the verbal statement that it is so. I have never seen that before, but if it is true, it has to mean that the flame logo is from summit, and probably circa 1955 to 1959. I do not know anything else about the flames logo. edit: update. Here it is One messed up chair indeed. Some horribly appli ... | |||||

| We discussed it here among... We discussed it here among 10 people and we came to an unexpected solution as follows: 1. Purchase the missing pieces to have a complete system. 2. Sell the pieces to somebody who wants to complete his system. This advice is for free, the next one will cost a lot of money. | |||||

| We have discussed this... so often on this forum that I am NOT going to go their even when it is this tempting, but...I think Angela came up with an excellent piece of vocabulary that we have never used here: the "prefered manufacturer" I like that! Whenever something is in the public domain and made according to specifications but by another than the "licenced" manufacturer we could call that last one the "prefered manufacturer"... | |||||

| Architecture is discussed We do talk about architecture here on DA. And I have wondered why we don't do it as much as we do furniture. I think it's an accessibility thing. We all have chairs but we don't all have great buildings around us. AS you mentioned on another thread. Paris doesn't subsidize plane ticket so we can all og and visit. (dang!) Furniture is just closer to peoples lives than a great structure is, I think. | |||||
