| As you've discovered it is not a Søborg made piece, and stylistically it is not Mogensen. The leg frame is distinctive, I'd look around for another, even with a different top and hope the piece is marked. | |||||

| I have discovered the secret, at least for my cabinet! The doors slide in the upper grooves on two nylon pegs about 1 1/2 inches in from each corner. These pegs are spring loaded. The trick is finding a tool that will slide into the groove and push the pegs down. Strangely, an old knitting needle worked nicely, and we popped the doors out fairly easily. I will add pictures when I get to a stopping point in our refinishing project. This cabinet was purchased somewhere around 1979 or 1980. I would not be surprised that this door glide system was used fai ... | |||||

| I've recently discovered that Poul M Volther did quite a bit of designing for Gemla dio. Not sure if anyone is overly familiar with his work? Also I've read that Gemla dio specialized in bentwood designs...which would explain the unique handles on the drawer. I've attached another pic for a closer look. Look familiar? Thanks. | |||||

| I just discovered who made the chair I posted above. It's called the "Flamingo Chair" and was designed in 1955 by Thea Leonard for Nassjo Stolefabrik, Sweden. Mine is the only chair I found that had the IDG tag. Madeleine, did you find out anything about the possible West LA store? BTW, the original upholstery on these chairs was black leather - very classy. It's beyond me why someone would recover it in brocade. | |||||
| I've discovered a new tool. | 2 Relevance | 13 years ago | Spanky | General discussion | |
| I've discovered a new tool. I'm doing the back of this Wegner CH25 chair and it's woven on both sides which makes it really tough to do the last few rows. Normally I would poke the double weft strand between the warp strands and poke it back up from underneath, but there's even less room than usual to do that. So, I tried an aluminum crochet hook and voilà! Works great! It's smooth and the hook end is tapered so it's easy to stick between strands. I wish I'd thought of it 20 chairs ago. Oh well. I am using a US size "J". You could go a size or two bigg ... | |||||

| It's taken me three months, but I've discovered the answer! "Milly Mod" is hep-cat slang for "millennium modern". ----------------------------- Question: How many hipsters does it take to screw in a light bulb? Answer, delivered with withering condescension: Tsk.... YOU don't KNOW?! | |||||

| I have discovered that... I have discovered that Modernica reissued these for a short time several years ago. They no longer make them...but my best guess is that what I found is one of these reproductions. That said, I'm still very pleased to have found it. | |||||

| Discovery I recently watched a TV show called Ultimate Factories, on The discovery channel, that took a look into the Ferrari factory. They go through the entire process of making the Engine, body, interior, paint, and testing. I can understand the cost of car and they lifestyle it brings. These guys make a sand cast for every engine, x-ray the engine block for imperfections, and they even have trees(in the factory) to set the best humidity for engine building. The paint process is unmatchable. The fake almost makes the authentic worth more. | |||||

| Not to discredit The above posting, but it sounds like a bit much for a room with so much going on. It reminds me of a mural project I painted on the entire inside of a gazebo type structure (altho much heavier walls, not as open or perforated as a gazebo). The person who commissioned it wanted "something like heaven, billowing clouds, rays of light" - too gaudy for me, but I was happy to paint it for her. I have to admit I mostly scanned the postings trying to get to the bottom here, but one thing struck me in the discussions: You say that the floor is re ... | |||||

| The time discrepancy of the date is due to the fact that in 1969 they were awarded the license. In the years in-between they investigated the financing of doing everything in house but finally decided to outsource the production with the prototype being debuted in December of 1975 http://www.futuro-house.net | |||||
