	I have an Yrjö Kukkapuro Karuselli chair that is totally functional and structurally sound, but the white fiberglass shell is aged to a depressing, unattractive yellowed white. The red leather has disintegrated on the arms, seat and head-rest. The original leather is so specifically shaped and fused to foam which is fused to the shell. It would be so costly to re-upholster, that one might as well buy it new. So...I almost put it on Craigslist for free, but I couldn't do it. It is dear to me -- had it 25 years now. So...I ask...is it possible to recolo ...

	I don't think that there's a disconnect with the stated forum guidelines Rather it is more like what gene and woowoof allude to. Too many takes and not enough shares. People ask over and over, and sometimes about stuff that has been exhaustively covered in other threads, which of course, were not searched for. Granted the search engine here is a bit wonky but, it works far more times than it doesn't. It gets to us; that's all. My personal expertise is in color, and I used to answer in a very detailed way about choosing and using color and then I just gave up ...

	Timeline disconnect Having intimate, personal knowledge of life in both the 60's and the 70's, a lot of what gets credited to the "swingin 70's" actually dates to the mid to late 60's but nobody wants to be remembers with the 60's, kennedy, vietnam, nixon/watergate. 	rare and discontinued it looks like a cabinet designed for a doctor's or dentist's office. you know, one of those with stainless steel drawers for storing those tongue pushy-down-popsicle stick things and cute little rolls of dental floss. i did notice from the description that it is both rare and discontinued. that should make it worth more than it's worth.

	Mandarin chairs from Knoll are now discontinued... They were designed by Sottsass... I've always admired his work... The chairs need to be reupholstered as the cat has left her mark in shredding the inside of the back... Thinking of reupholstering then in white leather and having the arms repainted in silver metallic... Still on my "to do" list... I really like the bird chair, too... 	Heh. The only discos I visited were in Brockton and in Boston. They were sort of clown-sneakers, two-toned with dark wedge soles. Light as a dream. Might have had slightly oversized eyelets. I was living in Pembroke, guess. Fish are good, in nets. Birds, not so much.

	We may be to quick in discoun... We may be too quick in discounting todays designers. Five decades from now, the next generation will be celebrating "turn of the century" design in a similar fashion as we do for Mid Century stuff. Please be patient and keep an open mind.

	I have an offer for a nice vintage Eames 670/671 - obviously an original from vitra but without any (adhesive) label at the buttom. The seller is absolutely trustworthy and the lounge chair looks very genuine to me (I viewed it in the showroom). In your opinion, would the missing label be a reason for a price discount (concerning a future resale)? Thanks for your suggestions.

	I've found the general design discussion here useful, but this may be off topic, pardon me. in these...interesting...financial times, I've only been able to wrestle a 20% discount (plus free freight) off list prices for high end furniture. Another dealer offered 25% off today but I've already ordered. 15% seems to be a standard trade discount, so it doesn't seem like I've accomplished much at 20% off. for future reference, what sort of deal should one expect, especially when buying about 30k (list) usd in furniture?
