| Mid-century Declaration by Drexel Dining Room Table | 2 Relevance | 18 years ago | Jill | General discussion | |
| I just discovered that a table I inherited from my aunt is a Declaration by Drexel creation. The underside has the following description: 851-311-3. Table. Declaration by Drexel. 12/59. The table has been repainted, unfortunately. To what extent will this effect the value? | |||||
| Help ID this dining room table, DWR? | 2 Relevance | 18 years ago | NULL NULL | Identification | |
| I picked this up off of craigslist, and was wondering if anyone knows what it is? It is a real solid dining room table. The owner says that it was from DWR, and claims it was a couple years old. One of the legs on the bottom is stamped "made in italy", but there are no other markings. Can anyone help me? | |||||
| Which Dining Room Table? | 2 Relevance | 18 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| Which of these dining room tables is better for the room and chairs? BTW, that is a nelson omni system in the rear. We are trying to decide if we should use it in the dining room as a hutch, or in the baby room/family room as storage. Does it fight either of these tables? | |||||
| Are these dining chairs Ib Kofod Larsen? | 2 Relevance | 18 years ago | tchp | General discussion | |
| I have seen these chairs in a few online shops, in teak and in rosewood. One place identifies them as being by Ib Kofod Larsen, other shops do not offer any attribution. As I am very much into IKL, I am really interested if anyone can tell me if these are his or not. | |||||
| Dining table suggestions | 2 Relevance | 18 years ago | Lunchbox | General discussion | |
| I have just recently cleared some space and now have room in my place to float a full-size rectangular dining table. I'm looking for some less obvious designs more of the Danish persuasion. I am generally all about balance when approaching interiors. And as my six-piece dining set are white on black Bertoias, I think a big plank of wood is in order here. Suggestions? Thanks in advance. | |||||
| Hans Olsen Dining Set | 2 Relevance | 18 years ago | HowardMoon | General discussion | |
| Hi Everyone, I`m hoping to pick your collective brains on this Hans Olsen dining set I bought. I have been scouring the internet for more detailed information on this piece but it is hard to come by. The cofusion lies with the materials. I have several MCM Teak pieces at home, but the timber used on the table top surfice of this Olsen piece appears to be a lot darker and I think it may be Rosewood, did Olsen produce these with Rosewood tops? Please see the links for photos. I think the previous owner has used a dark stain on the wood which is making it har ... | |||||
| #434 Mahogany Association Inc. Buffet, dining table and chairs | 2 Relevance | 18 years ago | Polly | General discussion | |
| We have a beautiful dining set inherited by an aunt who was over 90 years old. We would like to find out what it is worth. All the pieces have the Mahogany Association Inc. Stickers with the # 434. Another brass tag is found on the inside of the buffet saying "Pioneer Furniture Co. Detroit's Finest Furniture Store." She lived in Detroit Michigan and I know she had this furniture for many years. I looked up the Pioneer Furniture Co. on the internet with no luck. Do you have any information about any of this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Polly | |||||
| "I Am Legend" kitchen dining chairs? | 2 Relevance | 18 years ago | Gustaf | General discussion | |
| I would be interested in the make and model of the dining chairs in the kitchen of Robert Neville's (Will Smith) apartment. The chair looks somewhat like a crossing between Arne Jacobsen's 3103 (see link) and an Eames wire base. Dark wood and black metal. Also, the base looks like it flexes. I have never seen it before. Pretty cool. http://www.designandfun.com/arne_jacobsen_3103_chair_for_fritz_hansen.htm | |||||
| Drexel Biscayne Dining Set | 2 Relevance | 19 years ago | Renny | General discussion | |
| I bought a nice Drexel Biscayne dining set a couple of days ago and have some questions. The finish is beautiful, but could use a cleaning. Will cleaning the "patina" off affect the value? With this set I have a table with 2 leafs and full pads. Also there is a hutch with china cabinet, 6 chairs and a sideboard. I was wondering if the wood is teak. Does anyone have an idea of value? I'm pretty sure I got a good deal at $200.00. Thanks for your help. | |||||
| What color to paint walls in dining room? | 2 Relevance | 19 years ago | Fungus Mungus (USA) | General discussion | |
| I trying to come up with a good color scheme for our dining area. Right now we have a 47" Knoll Saarinen table surrounded by 4 Eames DCMs in walnut. I am planning on putting a Nelson steering wheel clock by the window shown in the picture (to the left of the plant). The clock looks great there, but because the walls are white and the clock hands are silver, the clock is hard to read. So, we've decided to paint. This pic was taken in the evening, so the walls look yellowish due to the light cast from the lamp, but they're actually white, which is quite domin ... | |||||

| Room & Board's Saarinen marble dining table | 2 Relevance | 20 years ago | Jay | General discussion | |
| Has anyone bought, or even seen, one of the Saarinen marble dining tables at Room & Board? I'm thinking of getting the Nero Marquina (black). It's $300 cheaper because it doesn't have the protective coating the Knoll table has, but as far as I know, is otherwise identical. I'm wondering if anyone's actually seen both. I'm mostly wondering if it's nice and shiny. I've decided the black marble will look a lot better with my chartreuse (80%), aqua (10%), and sky blue (10%) Metlox Colorstax; dark teal-handled bistro flatware, and assorted other tabletop stuff i ... | |||||
