| Who manafactured these vintage marble base glass top dining tables? | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | janelle_hoskins | Identification | |
| Hi, Ever since I saw this amazing marble-base glass-top dining table in the apartment of the Madrid-based fashion designer, Casilda Arizón's in Nuevo Estilo I have wanted one. http://nuevo-estilo.micasarevista.com/casas-lujo/elegante-piso-rehabilitado Using google translate, the image description suggests the table is vintage Italian 1960s. I would like to know more about how this table is constructed to get a similar table custom-built. In lieu of not seeing the front of the table and getting a sense of how it is constructed I thought about getting som ... | |||||

| Help ID'ing this Convertible Teak Coffee Table / Console Table / Dining or Game Table please? | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | snacks | Identification | |
| Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and I have a piece that I picked up at an estate sale over the weekend that I can't find any markings on. Does anyone know what it is? It has a really neat 3 setting conversion that is powered by cables and wood stops (low coffee table, higher console table, dining/game table). I'm very curious to know what it is and who made it. Anybody have an idea? Thanks! Ben | |||||
| Anyone Have Eames Dining Chairs-Are They Too Low? | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | nikonga | General discussion | |
| We have a wood dining table ( http://www.crateandbarrel.com/big-sur-natural-90.5-dining-table/s181269) and are looking to pair it with the Eames Fiberglass chairs. We have kids, and I like that the chairs are indestructible. (The wood chairs we have now are scuffed from hitting the edge of the table.) However, we bought one of these chairs to test it out with the table, and it's way too low. Anyone know what height we need to cut our table down to? I've seen this chair paired with the Saarinen table, which is 27.75" high. A typical table is 29 or 30 high, a ... | |||||
| Dining set maker and country of origin? | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | Reamie | Identification | |
| Hi I've just bought a table, chairs and sideboard. They're being sold as a set but I feel the sideboard isn't by the same maker as the table and chairs. The table is beautiful, solid wood and extendable. The leaf to extend the table can be used as a coffee table, with the same legs as he dining table. I couldn't see any makers mark but I haven't gone through them with a fine tooth-comb yet! Does anyone have any ideas on the maker/designer or country of origin? Edit: pics won't load properly will take better ones tomorrow! | |||||
| Does anyone have a 1956 Herman Miller catalog? Seeking info on George Nelson dining table. | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | staceyneil | Identification | |
| Hello! I have an uncommon George Nelson for Herman Miller walnut dining table with an integral butterfly leaf. It's not the fat-legged parsons-table looking one, nor the gateleg. It looks most like the No. 5753 coffee table shown in the 1956 catalog: same leg shape and detail where the top sits on the apron/skirt. It has the silver metal horizontal George Nelson signature label. I am curious about this table, what collection it was from, anything at all about it. If anyone has the catalog and can look it up for me, that would be great!! Or if you know anythi ... | |||||

| Soro Stole Danish Dining Chair - Designer & Period? | 2 Relevance | 12 years ago | Sarah Wilson | Identification | |
| HelloI picked up a set of these dining chairs by Soro Stole. I would very much like to know the name of the designer and the period. The frame is oak wood and they have a decorative leather tab on the back of each front leg where it meets the canvas webbed seat which made me think of the safari style chairs. The webbed seats look to be original as one of the Soro Stole labels was still underneath but I've only ever seen this style of seat on Alvar Aalto chairs not on Danish chairs.Any thoughts would be much appreciated.Sarah | |||||
