This DON armchair, in a very beautiful green / brown mud tone, has an attractive patina. The leather is in good condition both on the seats and on the backrest and armrests. The fabric cover under the seat cushion (not visible) has a tear that has been worked on. The metal base is in perfect condition and turns easily.
The family company Wilhelm Knoll was founded in 1865 and quickly became known for its high-quality leather furniture. From 1925 Walter Knoll was an important representative of the avant-garde and concentrated on the production of Bauhaus furniture. Designed by the designer Bernd Münzebrock, the DON armchair was “the” armchair in the Chancellery for a long time. Its pure dimensions and quality make it unique.
