This is a rare version of the U-453 sideboard with black, pink and white Formica drawers. It was designed by the legendary Czech furniture designer Jiri Jiroutek and was part of the popular U collection manufactured by Interier Praha in the 1960s Czechoslovakia.
This piece perfectly embodies the elegance of the so-called Brussels Style, named after Expo 1958 in Brussels where Czechoslovakia won 13 prizes including one in the furniture category.
This model has got a black Formica handle in the middle of the draw with pink or white Formica on the top and bottom, instead of the typical design solution which has the handle to the top side of the drawer. The sideboard is in great original condition. There is some small wear and tear on the wooden surface and on the Formica drawers.
