Originally sold exclusively through Harrods & Heals of London. The designer at Merrow Associates, Richard Young studied at The Royal Academy, and also at The Royal Art Academy of Copenhagen under the guidance of Wansche. The company had the idiom ‘Modern Classic’ and set out to prove that their British workmanship could rival their Scandinavian counterparts. This piece has been professionally restored and has a particularly beautiful Rosewood grain on the veneers. The firm was commitment to high quality and only produced lines of furniture in small batches from their factory based in Guildford and today are considered to be amongst the finest pieces of Mid Century furniture produced in Britain and a predicted antique of the future.
