The base detaches from the front for mounting and to change the bulb. Some patina on the paint job but no damage or bends in the metal. Takes a standard E27 light bulb. The lamp has a porcelain socket to take high wattage bulbs. Louis Christiaan Kalff is a Dutch graphic artist and designer from the 20th Century. He is one of the pioneers of the industrial design. Kalff is the designer of the iconic and timeless Z table lamp manufactured by Philips in 1955. He is responsible for the success of the range of lights of the famous appliances company.
