Gian Franco Legler Korbstuhl Basket Wicker Chair Pair

This pair of Legler Basket chairs with armrests comes in an excellent condition. The legs of the chairs have a fantastic patina which gives the chairs a special wow effect. The wicker ist in good condition and tight.   The swiss-italian design Gian Franco Legler designed this chair in 1951 for a Italian Restaurant called The Basket. He commissioned local craftsman with the manufacturing of these chairs. The Basket Chair became a big success, not only in Italy and Switzerland, but also in the US and Germany. In 1953 Gian Franco Leger got the Good Design Award from the Museum of Modern Art in New York for these chairs.
