Gian Franco Legler Basket Chair

This Legler basket chair with an angular backrest comes in an excellent condition. The legs of the chair have a fantastic patina which gives the chair a special wow effect. The swiss-italian designer Gian Franco Legler designed this chair in 1951 for the Italian Restaurant called “The Basket”. He commissioned local craftsman with the manufacturing of these chairs. The Basket Chair became a big success, not only in Italy and Switzerland, but also in the US and Germany. In 1953 Gian Franco Leger got the Good Design Award from the Museum of Modern Art in New York for these chairs.
