Gorgeous early edition Swan chair designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen, Denmark, 1967. This chair, Model 3320, better known as Swan is professionally reupholstered with the original quality of leather which was used in the 1960s. The chair is reupholstered in the traditional way by our upholstery professional, using new foam and cotton-wool (provided by Fritz Hansen) to restore the inside of the chair. The chair is entirely stitched by hand. The natural, raw leather that was used for the reupholstery has not been dyed but has been waxed to protect it. The leather shows some natural irregularities. The waxing procedure gave the chair a gorgeous patine and will become even more beautiful by time. The chair has a four-star swivel base, moulded in one piece, which is marked with manufacturers label and dated 0467. A true design icon from an early edition in excellent sustainable condition. Arne Jacobsen designed the Swan for the lobby and lounge areas at the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in 1958. Back then, the Swan was a technologically innovative chair with no straight lines, only curves. Measurements:75 cm H x 72 cm W x 66 cm D
