Bauhaus chrome-plated tubular steel cantilever leather armchair, model S411, designed by Willem Hendrik Gispen for Mücke Melder in Germany, 1930s.
Designed around 1935 by the Dutch industrial designer Willem Hendrik Gispen and manufactured by Mücke Melder, this Bauhaus cantilever armchair is an instantly recognizable model that is well documented in general design literature.
The armchair is restored, including the wooden armrests as well as the seats, which are fitted with new springs and are reupholstered in this beautiful calfskin leather in a red-wine color.
Please note that although this armchair is after a restoration, the chrome structure may still show some wear consistent with age and use, that of course does not affect the functionality of this armchair at all.
