BM62 chair, Børge Mogensen, P. Lauritsen & Søn, 1957. The aesthetic of Danish designer and architect Børge Mogensen, trained by professor Kaare Klint, is inspired by the Scandinavian cabinetmaker tradition, reinterpreted with clean and functional shapes. The modernity of his works makes them to collector’s items, whose value continues to increase, but also to very practical pieces of furniture for everyday use. The BM62 chair was designed in 1957 and belongs to the collectible models of the Danish designer. The exemplary available here is the first edition P. Lauritsen & Søn in solid teak and wicker cane. Many seats, including the Spanish BM22 collections, and several tables are still manufactured by Fredericia, with whom Mogensen has long collaborated, but the BM62 chair is no longer in production Børge Mogensen (1914-1972) was a very productive designer during the ’50s and the ’60s, together with Finn Juhl, Hans J. Wegner and Arne Jacobsen he helped define and popularize the Danish Modern style.
