A fabulous Mid-Century armchair designed by the Czech furniture designer František Jirák for Tatra Nábytok in the 1950s, Czechoslovakia.
This armchair is very elegant and most importantly practical. It is in excellent condition as we have completely restored it including of course the wood which we restored to its peak condition, we completely changed all the springs in the seat and fully reupholstered it with this beautiful upholstery made by a famous Czech fabric manufacturer.
The design of this armchair followed the huge success of the Czechoslovak pavilion at the Brussels Expo 58. The armchair features beautiful bent plywood armrests and a wooden structure made from beech veneer. It is a fantastic example of Mid-Century modern design.
This armchair is very comfortable and is perfect for everyday use. It will most definitely make a great addition to any contemporary living space or home office!
