Hello all!  I recently picked up a pair of these chairs and am trying to figure out if they are authentic Knoll. And if so, any idea when they might have been manufactured?

Not sure if this is the original upholstery but I quite like the burnt orange. It's not in perfect shape by any means but not rough enough to require an immediate reupholster.

Thank you all in advance, I really appreciate any insight you may have.

Good question. Your two photos do check enough boxes to raise another question: Given the chairs' current condition (assuming the other has been similarly reupholstered), does it really matter if they were originally by Knoll?

Sometimes close enough is close enough.

"Does it really matter if they were originally by Knoll?" And here I was  thinking I was posting a question in a furniture identification forum not an existentialist philosophy course 😁

@zhugh

I think they are indeed original (and somewhat rare) Knoll model 68 and very possibly not reupholstered ...therefore, I am.
