Crisis blues

Herringbone — Fri, 22 Jul 2022 08:14:00 +0000

Hey everybody. I feel like the political and financial situation is eating away at my nerves more than Covid did. Something I hardly thought I would say. Covid has at least given you some peace of mind and the opportunity to introspect and pursue projects you wouldn't have otherwise got around to. I'm not sure I can say anything similarly positive about rising energy prices, the threat of social unrest, the ever-increasing tendency towards political extremes and the pointless and possibly also endless Ukraine war with all its consequences for the global economy and the food situation in poorer countries. It feels like dark times are ahead of us. Does that sound too apocalyptic? Is it just me who thinks that? Am I just reading too much news?

It's good to be banned every so often.

Reminds one of younger days.

Bots

Herringbone — Mon, 04 Apr 2022 15:17:57 +0000

Just wanted to say that I'm glad and relieved to see you all back and I hope that DA finds a permanent solution to keep the bots out of the forum. If anybody here could at least read Mandarin ...

Although I have to admit that I was quite impressed by one of them. It managed to post more than 10K topics within a very short time which made it the most prolific and therefore illustrious member in the history of the forum. It needed just a day or so to even surpass dear @SDR who invested years of hard labor to rightfully claim the top position.

@tktoo2 - fingers crossed

Charles and Ray Eames in a TV Brawl

Tue, 22 Feb 2022 17:16:55 +0000

Several Eames DAW chairs were involved in a political TV brawl. It is still unconfirmed if those chairs were authentic licensed versions and if seriously hurt in the incident.

Delta Variant and Mask Wearing

tktoo2 — Tue, 29 Jun 2021 01:35:12 +0000

We in the northeastern US have been pretty consistently at least 3 weeks behind western Europe as far as the COVID pandemic is concerned. In Massachusetts, where I live, the vaccination percentage is close to 70% and it's like teenagers on rumspringa out there. The floodgates have been opened. Nobody wears masks. Party like it's 1999.

It's all a bit unnerving, but it's almost impossible to resist the temptation to let our collective pent-up whatevers all hang out all at once devil-may-care. Are we making a big mistake so soon after successfully ridding ourselves of our last yuuuge one?

Where is he? If anybody knows, tell him hi. I am guessing he would be horrified at the state of my footwear and the lack of pedicure, but he might appreciate the chair.

Posting photographs

Hi. I would appreciate a little help. When I press Attach button the file on my PC is opened but it does not upload the chosen photo. I asked admin or whoever is on the other side of contact mail, and I did try to find forum rules. Perhaps there is a restriction for newbies.

Can someone help me, point me to the site section where I can learn about this, or something... There is a capital "P" in the left bottom corner of the text box??

Thanks.
